Use Scriptorian to help you remember stories and
teachings from the Book of Mormon

Description: These study lists contain chapter summaries for the Book of Mormon. Each study item in these study lists contains the stories, important teachings, and key phrases found in a chapter of the Book of Mormon. Using these study lists in Scriptorian can help you remember where important stories and doctrines are found in the Book of Mormon and provide a solid context for remembering the location of verses that you might want to memorize.

Suggested Usage: You can use these lists in different ways, depending on how much you want to remember. For example, if you wanted to try and remember detailed information about each of the chapters in the Book of Mormon, then it would be best to use Quote It mode. By using Quote It to "recite" the words of each chapter summary, you will better retain the information for those chapters. Because remembering the summaries verbatim is not as critical as remembering the key points, fill in the blank mode would be sufficient to accomplish this. Using Chase would also reinforce the retention of those things which you have learned through Quote It.

On the other hand, these lists could be used simply as a trivia quiz. In this case, you would just use Chase with the study lists. Using Chase regularly in this manner will still help you learn where important events and doctrines are located in the Book of Mormon, but not as quickly and perhaps not in as much detail.

These lists were created to be a help in identifying prominent events and teachings found in the Book of Mormon, but are not intended to be authoritative or complete. You are encouraged to modify them to reflect the portions that are important to you and that which you want to remember. The Chase settings for the study lists were set so that only the Topix will be used for Chase. However, you can change these settings to learn and view the information in a way that best meets your needs.

If you proceed to learn the summaries for all of the Book of Mormon chapters provided in the study lists above, you will probably want to create a single study list for review. In this way, you will not need to constantly switch to a different study list to review the items you have already learned. You can do this by creating a new study list that will contain all of the summaries you have learned so far. Then access the Copy Between Study Lists dialog to copy the study items from the different study lists into the one review list.
