How To: Preferences for different users
Scriptorian allows you to set it up just the way you like it. You can
also create your own study lists. But what happens if somebody else in
your family likes to use Scriptorian with different settings and
different study lists? Fortunately, Scriptorian is designed to handle
different users and their preferred settings. This makes it easy for
each member of the family to use it the way they like.
To do this, Scriptorian allows you to create a different preference
set for each user. Preference sets are created and modified in the
Options dialog. To access the Options dialog, select Edit, then
Options from the main menu. At the top of the Options dialog, the
current preference set is displayed. From here you can select a
different preference set or create a new one. By selecting your
preference set, all of your favorite Scriptorian settings are
automatically set for you.
You can have Scriptorian start with a certain preference set by using
the "/p" start up switch. For example, if you have created a
preference set named:
My preference set
then the command line would look like:
c:\softlore\scrip\scrip30 /p My preference set
(that is,
if you installed Scriptorian to the c:\softlore\scrip directory-
if you aren't sure, check the About dialog to see where Scriptorian
was installed to). The easiest way to implement this is by setting up
a shortcut on your desktop that uses the "/p" start up switch to set
your preference.
Remember that Scriptorian includes extensive help to guide you through its features.
For example, to get Options help, just select Help from the main menu,
then How Do I? and then select Options, to get step by step instructions.
