Tips: Save your files

We don't like to think it could happen to us, but computer users are always at risk of losing valuable data as a result of unexpected glitches. To protect your files, and minimize the loss caused by a computer malfunction, it is important that you back up your data files on a regular basis. If you have a zip disk drive, or similar storage device, you can easily back up all of your Scriptorian files to it. If you are not sure where Scriptorian is installed on your computer, just go to the About dialog (select Help from the main menu, then About) to see which directory Scriptorian is located in. Then just back up all the files in that directory.

If your only option for back up is to floppy disk, then a good solution is to use Scriptorian's export feature to back up your study lists and libraries. Then if your computer crashes, you can just restore Scriptorian by downloading it from the SoftLore web site and then restore your study lists and libraries from your floppy disk by importing them back into Scriptorian.

Whichever method you choose, don't forget to use it regularly!

How do you use Scriptorian? Have you come up with some ideas that may be useful for others? Please feel free to share them with us.
