Tips: Online Scriptures

Often we are asked if Scriptorian, since it includes the entire LDS scripture library, has a feature to search for scriptures based on keywords. Although, you can easily retrieve any verse of scripture you want from Scriptorian's scripture library, it doesn't include the ability to search for a verse based on the words it contains- you need to know the reference of the verse you are looking for. Because other software products and resources exist that allow you to do this, we have intentionally not included such a feature.

However, if you are looking for a good way to look up scriptures by keyword, or even topic, you should check out The Official Scriptures of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on-line. From this web site you can quickly search the scriptures based on a word or phrase. You can also access the Topical Guide to easily peruse scriptures by topic. These on-line scriptures are fully cross indexed with hyper links so you can easily follow a chain of related scriptures to find what you may be looking for. And best of all since this is a free resource, as long as you have Internet access, you don't need to purchase another software program to be able to search for scripture verses. (And after you find that special verse you were looking for, don't forget to add it to your Scriptorian study list so you won't need to go looking for it again!)

How do you use Scriptorian? Have you come up with some ideas that may be useful for others? Please feel free to share them with us.
