How To: Additional new features
In our April newsletter
we introduced some of the new features in Scriptorian 3.0. We will
take note of a few others here:
Printer support
Scriptorian 3.0 includes new printer support features that give you
more flexibility and options when printing. These new features are
accessed from the Scriptorian Print dialog. The dialog contains two
new buttons: Preview and Setup.
Pressing Preview allows you to see how
your selection will look when it is printed. This way you can check
for correct font size, page alignment and content before actually
printing. The Setup button provides access to the standard Windows
Print Setup dialog. From here you can choose the paper size,
orientation, and target printer.
Another change to printing is what happens when you press the Print
button. At this point, the standard Windows Print dialog will be
displayed. This dialog is displayed to allow you to print multiple
copies- a requested feature by some of our seminary teachers.
Chase numbers
By default, when running Chase in multiple choice mode, numbers will
now be displayed next to the button options. This provides you with
another way to select the correct choice- use the keyboard to press
the number corresponding to your answer. Of course you can still use
your mouse to click on the button, but if you prefer keeping your
hands on the keyboard, you may appreciate this new feature. And if you
do not want the numbers displayed, you can turn them off in the Chase
tab of the Options dialog.
"Force no Numbers"
Another option added to Scriptorian 3.0 allows you to remove leading
numbers. If your study list contains scriptures, you would not want the
verse numbers to be displayed with the verse when doing Chase or Quote
It. For study items that Scriptorian recognizes (by their reference)
to be scripture, the leading numbers are automatically removed.
However, there may be some study lists that contain items that are not
recognized by Scriptorian as scripture, but yet need the leading
numbers removed. In this case, set the Forced Number Removal check
box (found in the General tab of the Study List Options dialog) to
cause the leading numbers to be removed.
