Tips: Some are more right than others

The Chase Fill in entry mode requires you to enter study item references directly, without choices to select from. This is more difficult, but also more effective in reinforcing your knowledge. Those who have used both can attest to this.

However, you may not know that in Fill in entry mode, entering a reference incorrectly isn't an "all or nothing" proposition. For example, if you incorrectly enter "Mark 4:2" instead of "Mark 5:2" for a reference, then Scriptorian gives you a score of 2 out of 3 for your answer: correct answer for book and verse, incorrect for chapter (if you have the Book and Chapter only option set, Scriptorian will give you a score of 1 out of 2, ignoring any verses entered). However, if you entered "Mark 52:2" instead, you would get a score of 0 because the reference is invalid- there are not 52 chapters in Mark.

This feature also applies to non-scriptural references when they are delimited by commas. As an example, for the quote:
"You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
    You can steer yourself any
    direction you choose",
the reference could be "Dr. Seuss, Oh the Places You'll Go, pg 2". If you entered "Dr. Seuss, Cat in the Hat, pg 2", then you would score 2 out of 3. The Book and Chapter only option can be applied to non- scriptural references as well in that only the first two parts of the reference would be required, in this case "Dr. Seuss" and "Oh the Places You'll Go".
